- Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, time spent, interactions
- View events: posts viewed, videos watched, watch time (used for creator earnings)
- Screen time: daily usage minutes (stored locally on your device only)
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Stripe: subscription status, payment confirmation (not card details)
- Supabase: secure cloud database hosting for your account data
3 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform
- Process subscription payments through Stripe
- Calculate and distribute creator earnings based on watch time, impressions, and engagement
- Send you notifications about activity on your account (based on your preferences)
- Send weekly parent dashboard reports (Family Plan subscribers only)
- Enforce our Content Policy and Terms of Service
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect against fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity
4 Human-Only Content Policy
The Authenticity Standard
Kindred Content is built on authentic, human-made content. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that all content you post must be original and created by you. AI-generated content, repurposed content, and spam are strictly prohibited.

5 Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
5.1 Service Providers
- Supabase: database and authentication services
- Stripe: payment processing
- Resend: email delivery for notifications and creator broadcasts
- Expo/EAS: app distribution and updates
5.2 Other Users
- Your username, profile photo, bio, and public posts are visible to other users
- Your follower and following counts are publicly visible
- Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
6 Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active
- Posted content: retained until you delete it or your account
- View events and earnings data: retained for 24 months for creator payment purposes
- Messages: retained for 12 months
- Screen time data: stored locally on your device only, never sent to our servers
- After account deletion: most data deleted within 30 days; some retained up to 90 days for legal compliance
7 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Kindred Content is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@kindredcontent.app.
For users aged 13–17, we recommend parental supervision. Our Family Plan includes parental transparency tools to help parents monitor their children's usage.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will promptly delete any information we discover has been collected from a child under 13.
8 Family Plan and Parental Controls
For Family Plan subscribers with parent accounts:
- Parent accounts can view child account activity summaries
- Weekly email reports include top categories and top 10 content consumed
- Content links in parent reports are provided for transparency
- Child account data is processed under the parent's consent
- 1-hour daily screen limit data is stored locally on the child's device only
9 Your Privacy Rights
9.1 All Users
- Access: request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data
- Portability: request your data in a portable format
- Opt-out: unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
9.2 California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected and shared, the right to delete, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
9.3 European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (providing the service) and legitimate interests.

- Password hashing — we never store plain-text passwords

Our mobile app does not use cookies. Our web platform uses essential cookies only for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

The Platform allows creators to add outbound links to their posts. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
